Hitting

• Contact off coach pitch/tee
• Eye on the ball
• no spinning around during swing

 

Fielding and Defense

• Remaining (and not abandoning) assigned position when ball is hit to another part of the field e.g. 1st base does not run to center field to get ball
• Understanding force outs and tag outs

 

Base running

• Running the correct direction around the bases
• Running all the way to 1st base

 

Throwing

• Non-throwing hand/elbow pointing target
• Shoulders square to target
• Throwing elbow above ear during follow through

 

Catching 

• "High Five" the ball
